Jangambari Math is the oldest Math among all the maths of Kashi and is also known as Jnana Simhasana or Jnana Peetha. Jangama means knower of Shiva, wadi means living place. The Math complex is spread over an area of 50,000 sq. feet. Presently the math is headed by 86th Peethadipati. If there are no engagements then he camps in Kashi math & imparts Sanskrit teaching from primary to research level. The math complex has Dharmaratna Kalyani Mahadwara, Kailash Mandap (seat of Jagatguru Vishwaradhya- founder of the math), Jagatguru’s Darbal Hall, Harishwar Mandir (Samadhis of previous Acharyas), Jnana Mandir Library, Jagatguru Vishveshwar Nitya Annadana kshetra, Jagatguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul, Bhakti Niwas, Staff quarters, Ganesh Hall, ancient Shiv temple, Sabha Mandap etc.The Math can accommodate 400 pilgrims and various pujas can be arranged by the math.
