Kachchua Punarvas Kendra (Tortise Breeding Centre)
This Punarvas Kendra is located on the road leading to Khajuhi village in Bariarpur, north east of Mulgandha Kuti Vihar , at a distance of about 1 km from Sarnath, Varanasi, U.P., India and has been established under Ganga Action Plan (GAP) started in 1986, as a breeding centre for tortoise. This is an attempt to check the biological pollution of River Ganges. Here tortoises are hatched, reared and after one and half year they are dropped in the Kachchua Wildlife Sanctuary in River Ganges. The Forest Division of Kashi looks after this place.
