The temple has been built by Atago Isshin World Buddhist Cultural Association Japan, which has been generally funded by Japanese Monarchy. The temple is dome shaped and consists of single circular chamber & is symmetrical from all sides. It houses a beautiful golden statue of Lord Buddha made of Ashta Dhatu (eight metals). The statue was brought in dismantled form from Japan and was later assembled and established inside the temple. The chamber of the temple is softly lit by the small tainted glass windows. This is one of the beautiful temples and a must visit attraction of Kushinagar.
