The rulers of this dynasty did significantly, by patronizing art & literature & converted Jaunpur into an important centre of learning, thus giving it the title of ‘Shiraj of India’. A number of buildings with specific architecture pattern (Sharqi Architecture) came up in Jaunpur and is the hallmark of the town. The rulers of Sharqi dynasty built their own cemetery and they were finally buried down here. The graves of the seven kings of Sharqi dynasty can be seen in rows in this cemetery.
