Palta Devi temple is a Shaktipeetha and is dedicated to Devi Palta. It is believed to be of Mahabharata period. Pandavas during their exile established this temple. There is a Shiva temple also in the campus. Presently the temple administration is under control of a local committee, headed by a Mahant. Nearby a pond also exists which is being renovated by the temple authorities. People from Nepal, Gorakhpur, Basti & Gonda throng here during both the Navratries.
