This is one of the most blessed temples of Ayodhya. The present temple came into existence through the efforts of its 7th manager Nathuramji Bhatt, & replaced the older small structure. The idols of the temple are supposed to belong to Vikramaditya period. In the medieval times idols of this temple were immersed in River Saryu so as to avoid the desecration of the temple by invaders. The idols were retrieved by a south Indian Brahmin from Laxman Sahasradhara. Another temple by the name of Lord Sri Ram is also situated in this campus. A good collection of holy books is kept here and devotees circumambulate them as a part of the rituals.
