In the Panch koshi Parikrama of Prayag, Paidila Mahadev has a very special place. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that the temple is as old as Dwapar Period and this place was visited by Pandavas during their journey to Patliputra. They stayed here for a night and on the advice of Rishi Bharadwaj they installed the Shivling here. Hence, the temple is named Pandeshwar (Paidila Mahadev). Monday, Shivratri, Shravan month, & Purushottam month are considered auspicious; when the temple is visited by thousands of devotees and different kind of pujas are conducted by the devotees.
