The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located on Allahabad-Pratappur road, at a distance of 37 km from Allahabad, & 2 km from Lalapur. It is generally believed that Lord Ram while on his way to Chitrakoot stayed here & installed a Shivling here. Lord Rama’s wishes were fulfilled here hence, the name Mankameshwar to this temple. A pond also exists nearby. Monday is the special day of the week & Shivratri, 13th day of Paush month is celebrated here, when people visit the temple in large number. The temple has been renovated in 1997. In 2005, idols of Durga, Kal Bhairav, Ganesh & hanuman have been added to the temple premises.
