This is an important and largest natural flood plain wetland in the eastern U.P., which provides a wintering & staging ground for a number of migratory waterfowls & a breeding ground for resident birds.

Located at about 10 km south west of Basti city, about 82 km from Gorakhpur near Nagar, on Tanda road in Basti district, U.P.

Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary, once a habitat of Asiatic Lions, has all the natural ingredients to become a beautiful tourist/picnic spot.

In India, almost all the rivers are polluted by the adjoining urban settlements. Industrial growth & continuous rapid increase in population has further aggravated this pollution problem. The River Ganges, though considered the most sacred, is one of the worst affected.

The Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1982, is spread over an area of about 501 km2 of Mirzapur & Sonbhadra District.

This little known Wildlife Sanctuary is situated near Nepal border in the Tarai region of Bahraich district and is a part of Dudhawa Tiger Reserve.
