Robertsganj

The Temple is dedicated to Van Devi (Goddess of Forest). The Idol installed here, was excavated during the construction of Rihand Dam.


This stone is a mark of love & bravery of Lorik & Manjari, the main characters of local folklore 'Loriki' and aptly described so in the folksongs, sung by native folksingers.


Built in 5thCentury, at a height of 400 feet from the ground level by Kol Kings, the Fort is famous for its rock inscriptions, cave paintings, many statues and its perennial ponds.


Vishnu Temple is located at a distance of about 4 km from Shivdwar, 13 km from Ghorawal & 44 km from Robertsganj via- Renukut- Shivdwar- Bankanhara road, at Bankanhara, in Sonbhadra district, U.P.
