This place is said to have been established by Sayyad Faizullah during the reign of Emperor Shahjahan. He named this place Daranagar, after the name Dara Shikoh, the son of Shahjahan. A mosque (built in 1661), Mausoleum of Sayyad Faizullah (built in 1600), Mausoleum of Gulam Husain are the main historical monuments of the place. Other than these monuments described so far there are many temples here such as Old Hanuman Temple (Daranagar Bazaar, timing: 5am-9pm), Jain Temple (Timing: 6:30am-9:30pm) & Jwala Devi Temple.
