According to Puranas, Pratishthanpur (Jhunsi) is located to the east of Prayag, on the bank of River Ganges. In Maharshi Safal Dev Ashram, an old temple of Shankh-Madhav- one of the 12 Madhavas of Prayag, is located, which has been renovated by the famous Birla Group of Industries. A magnificent temple of Ram, Sita & Radha Krishna is also situated here. The idols of the temple were installed by the patronage of Late Shri Mathuranath Brahmachari about fifty years back. A one day long Shivratri fair is held here annually. A month long auspicious bathing period is observed during Malmas (Purshottum) month. A Sanskrit Pathshala (School) was established forty year back and is still running successfully.
