Anand Bhawan, the two storied building, is the ancestral home of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. It became a very important place during India’s freedom struggle. Various epoch events and momentous decisions of the freedom movement took place here. Indira Gandhi donated this building to Indian Government in 1970. The building was later converted into the museum. The museum displays the memorabilia of the Nehru family. The museum is well maintained and is worth visiting. The study room is full of a variety of books. One room where Mahatma Gandhi (the father of the nation) used to stay is dedicated to his memory. The out house of the building has been converted into a gallery, displaying various facets of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehrus life.
