Mirzapur-Vindhyachal

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, but the exact date of the temple is not known. The folklore has it that some merchant used to visit this place for trading.


This is also one of the important waterfalls located around Mirzapur city and is about 32 km from Mirzapur city on Mirzapur-Lalganj- Vijaipur road, in the Mirzapur district of U.P.


On the right side of the road leading to Robertsganj, after Ahraura, a waterfall is nestled amongst the hills.


Irrigation Department, U.P. has constructed this Dam/Reservoir on the River Khajuri. Catchment area of the reservoir is about 44 km2 and height of the Dam is about 61.3 feet.


According to the story prevailing amongst natives, the construction of the forts of Chunar & Magandevana was started simultaneously and it was agreed upon by both sides that whoever completes the construction first will stay in the region and the other one will leave the place for good.


The dam is located 63 km south of Mirzapur city, in Mirzapur district of U.P., India and has been constructed by Sirsi Dam Division, Mirzapur which comes under Irrigation department of U.P.
